FATE SYMPOSIUM 2003

Annual Symposium of the Finnish Association for Research in Technology Education (FATE), Helsinki & Lahti, 9.10. – 12.10.2003 

The aim of the symposium is to give researchers in technology education the opportunity to present and communicate their work at the national and international level. The focus is to discuss the scope, methods, outcomes and perspectives of research in technology education in the context of the symposium themes (the symposium is organized together with the Mathematics and Science Education Research Association and the Association of Technology Teachers):

1) equal opportunities for students in technology education, science and mathematics (including computer science education) and
2) technology teacher education and primary school teacher education. You will find more information about the conference (programme, paper proposals, registration, accommodation, tours) by activating the links on this page.

 

It is a great pleasure to invite you to join the Annual Symposium of the Finnish Association for Research in Technology Education in Helsinki together with the 20TH ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF THE Finnish Mathematics and Science Education Research Association and in Lahti together with the Association of Technology Teachers. Payment

Registration payment (40 €) and Symposium dinner fees (Helsinki: 34 € and Lahti: 30 € ) should be made in advance. Payments can be made by bank transfer:

Payment can also be done at the beginning of the symposium at the Symposium office.

 

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations should be made in writing to conference  secretary or president. The refund will be 50%. There will be no refund for cancellations made after September 19, 2003.

Proposals (papers)

The organising committee will be happy to receive your proposals written in English or in national languages.

There will be a 'book' of abstracts available at the beginning of the symposium at Helsinki.

 

The Finnish Journal of Technology Education "Teknologiakasvatus" will publish proceedings of the symposium (in Finnish, Swedish and English) and it will consist of a selection of papers. Papers should be written according to the APA format and include: title, author(s), the institute and e-mail address of the corresponding author; abstract; text; and references (http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/research/r_apa.html#Examples ) (Word document). All papers will be reviewed.

Abstracts of papers in Finnish and Swedish and English as well as a number of papers not suitable for publication in the proceedings (special issue of Finnish Journal of Technology Education "Teknologiakasvatus") will be published on the website after the conference.
